1950s Coloured Slab Glass Porch Lantern (Peter Marsh?)
Code: W0319B003
SOLD
A beautiful dalle de verre 1950s coloured slab glass porch lantern likely from the ‘house of Peter Marsh’ in Birmingham. This coloured glass lantern would have hung in a porch or entrance way. A unique Lumiere from the post war period - these fascinating lamps became popular from the late 1940s to the mid 1960s and are now becoming collectable. Made from coloured slab glass set into a leaded matrix in a light steel frame with a scroll work upper. The main body is open to the top and bottom to give more light but which must be protected from the elements. Some slight separation between some of the glass and mount, these amazing lanterns remain a true British design icon.
Please note: All electrical installation work must be undertaken by a qualified electrician.
