From a bygone era - a wonderful piece of Herefordshire horticultural heritage!
A lovely old cast iron garden roller bearing the name 'Harding Bros Ironmongers Hereford'. A simple yet elegant wishbone handle with a twin-drum roller and dished hubs. Just above the scraper bar is the nameplate complete with a 'lion rampant'. The handle, once likely made of ash wood, is currently a simple metal tube. There are remnants of red and green paint at the roller ends and on the nameplate - no doubt a rather splendid looking roller when first displayed!
A good-sized roller - the nameplate needs one fixing bolt and there's a slight twist to the handle stem. A contoured wooden handle and new paint would transform this fine old roller into a jewel of the garden once more!
