An enchanting art nouveau style cast iron twin footplate machine base that could be re-purposed as the base for a table or display stand. The curved and waisted legs, the wishbone stay, spiral pattern drive wheel and scroll work flywheel (with early brake-shoe) combine to create a very stylish and elegant piece of industrial art from the period. The twin foot pedal connected to the cranked driveshaft is a rare and particularly endearing feature. There is some damage to the upper casting where one of the four curved arms that would have held the worktop is missing.
