Arts and Crafts Witches Hat Copper and Glass Lantern

This authentic period lumiere is a lovely example of an arts and crafts ‘witches hat’ copper and glass lantern. An elegant form consisting of three vertical pillars with a contoured ring base and a stylish tapered hood above. Each pillar has a small foral motif and curled leaf detailing. The hood is ventilated with circular cut-outs and peaks in a single articulated hook. The glass or shade is made from old glass, complete with air bubbles, and its upper half is fluted. There is some distortion to the copper hood and base - and a little nibbling to the glass where the bulb holder enters. Two of the three adjustable screw-stops that support the glass from below have been replaced over time and the current (old) bakelite bulb holder/socket is fractured and will need replacing. This splendid original arts and crafts lamp is not weather proof and so should only be used under cover or internally.
IMPORTANT: All lighting must be tested and installed by a suitably qualified electrician prior to use.
