Authentic Cast Iron Road Sign for Belmont Road, Hereford, Herefordshire

This original black and white cast iron road sign, in 'original' condition, is a great piece of local and social history. Belmont Road was historically the road into Hereford City from Abergavenny - passing Over Newton Brook in the parish of St' Johns, south of the river. The heritage of Hereford is told through unique items of street furniture such as this. Its relief lettering and period design have seen this iconic wayfinder mark the route in and out of historic Hereford for generations.

The sign and its lettering are intact and beautifully time-worn with a unique and unmistakable patina.
