Authentic Period Iron and Stone Boot Scraper

This boot scraper is completly worn out - but then, a long time ago, someone did something wonderful...

Rather than discard it, they simply took another scraper and used it to bridge the gap of the old worn out blade!

It's easy to see why. The original scraper is blacksmith made, has shaped risers with button tops, curved stays and delicate collar scrolls - all set using molten lead into a hand carved stone base.

The original blade had a single thin bar with substantial shoulders to help clean the instep of the boot. The later scraper was an altogether simpler affair tethered using pieces of twisted wire.

It's worth noting that the replacement scraper is also heavily worn - it's like two antiques for the price of one!
