Artists at Warehouse 701
Herefordshire Art Week is a nine-day celebration of brilliant local art pieces, an initiative that gives artists, craft-makers and creative businesses the opportunity to exhibit their work at a number of venues throughout the county. We’re really proud to have been a Hereford Art Week venue for the last few years and we’re really excited to be involved again this year, with six fantastic artists making themselves at home in Warehouse 701 for the event. Come down and have a look, entry is of course free of charge and complimentary coffee will be available!

Kate is a talented creative designer and glass-worker, while Clive is particularly skilled in the ways of glass, woodwork, metalwork and similar. Together they recycle, upcycle and re-work materials into beautiful new creations, some of which you’ll be able to see here at Warehouse 701 throughout the week.
Janine White, owner of ‘A Little White Workshop’, is a talented artist with a variety of creative outlets. Known for her intricate design patterns, surface designs and beautiful illustrations; Janine works as a creative freelance illustrator, surface pattern designer and a designer/maker. An avid nature enthusiast, Janine takes inspiration from the outdoors. Much of her work reflects the beauty and wonder of the countryside and its wildlife. Examples of her artwork will be on show at Warehouse 701 throughout h.Art week.
Lin Gardner is a talented artist, sculptor and photographer based just outside of Hereford. Lin offers Giclee prints of her fine art work, as well as greeting cards and originals while her sculptures are fashioned from stone, wood and wire. She’ll be exhibiting a variety of her pieces here at Warehouse 701 for the week.
Matthew is an accomplished sculptor, specialising in big and beautiful decorative pieces for permanent display. Matthew forms his pieces from steel, copper and bronze to form bold yet delicate and graceful focal points, often incorporating natural themes and mythical creatures into his designs.
Some of Matthew’s larger scale feats include ‘Chronophage’ AKA ‘The Corpus Clock’ in Cambridge (U.K.), which is seen by over five million people every year. Last year, Matthew unveiled ‘Crowned Stag’ in Beaulieu, Chelmsford – a vast, three-story high sculpture measuring six tonnes in weight and two hundred and seventy-eight cubic metres in volume. A range of his more mobile pieces will be shown throughout Warehouse 701 during h.Art week and are a real sight to behold.
Melanie Gale is a talented artist based in Hereford. Melanie will be exhibiting a range of her beautiful illustrations at Warehouse 701 throughout h.Art week.
Philippa Anderson is an accomplished artist who describes her work as ‘expressionist in style comprising large, monochromatic pieces, loosely suggesting architectural imagery’. Philippa exhibited some of her magnificent pieces here at Warehouse 701 in May, showcasing a series of artworks that were inspired by the environment of Warehouse 701 and our collection of fantastic and unusual objects and materials. We’re really excited to have Philippa back for h.Art week!
