A delightful collection of individually styled handmade wood washboards that were common place in early 20th century Europe.
Please Note: the photographs show just a few of the many washboards available.
Simple, lightweight and effective, these were typically placed upright in a bath or bucket of hot water where clothing was then soaped and rubbed up and down the washboard to help 'scrub' them clean.
Beautifully worn by the water and use over time, these make great serving boards or table coasters for hot plates and cups. They're extremely tactile and make a great stand alone feature in a rustic or contemporary setting.
The average sizes are 55cm long x 15-20 cm wide.
