Large Authentic Vintage Pine Storage Box Marked Pirate Tobacco

Why are Pirate tobacco boxes popular - because they 'aaarrrr!' Okay, so it's an old joke but this lovely old shipping crate has some age too!

W D & H O Wills,  a renown tobacco company, produced the Pirate brand of tobacco from 1910 to celebrate Britain's glorious naval past and the illicit adventures of piracy. The naval theme would later be continued through the 'Capstan' brand of cigarette.

This good sized storage box is made of pine wood that has been lined (later) with old wallpaper.

A lovely old box with a provocative name that would look great in a retail display or around the home.
