Lovely Old Cast Iron St Georges Road or Street Sign

A very patriotic plate indeed! This lovely old cast iron St Georges Road or street sign is slightly crusty and weighs a ton - well, not quite - but it is very heavy for its size. It appears to have all its original paint which is aged-white in each of the recessed letters with a (now dull) black background. This is a substantial plaque that has withstood the ravages of the weather throughout its long and proud life. It has four fixing holes and will require careful mounting. A great piece for the home, the patriotic collector - or someone called George?
