Antique Hamleys Pony Ride Tricycle Childs Carraige
Code: to be advised
Qty Available: 1
An adorable and rare twin prancing-pony child’s carriage from the late Victorian or Edwardian period still with its Hamleys of London badge. A handmade sprung wicker seat sits atop a solid wood chassis with a large hooped handle-bar to the rear, two large spoked rubber-tyred wheels below and a single steerable third wheel to the front. The latter is connected via a crank to the remnants of two carved wooden ponies that would have rocked gently up and down, as if trotting. The main frame sits on two strap-hung steel ‘cee-springs’, sadly the two leather straps are missing. A stylish barley-twist plated metal foot rest mounted on a hogs-back toe-board. With a little loving care and the ponies restored, this magical carriage would make a wonderful display or heritage piece.
