Old Salvaged Galvanised Riveted Red Water Tank

A classic old salvaged galvanised riveted red water tank. The original (likely) red oxide paint has now faded beautifully creating a lovely patina to this tank. The heavy riveting along all four corners - together with the triangular corner plates give a timeless industrial feel. Once a common feature in every home, time has seen these domestic stalwarts become collectable. Now a favourite of the gardener and interior designer to display shrubs and flowers in the garden or conservatory - or as a feature in a restaurant or retail setting.

The walls of this tank have thinned over time resulting in pinholes through the steel around the sides. Still servicable as a planter but will no longer hold water without a liner.
