Original Old Red Paint W E Co. Ltd Cast Iron Tractor Seat

An attractive W.E.Co.Ltd. early 20th century cast iron tractor or agricultural implement seat with distinctive radial patterning, raised stylised lettering and a pierced pommel. The aerated pattern allowed air to circulate and rainwater to drain away. Seats were usually mounted on a single spring (or sprung) steel arm and covered with sackcloth for some degree of comfort.

Best of all, this particular seat has retained it's vintage red paint together with a little dappled rust. This is unlikely to be the original paint, which would have quickly worn-away, but it gives the seat a wonderful vintage patina.
