An impressive late Victorian or early Edwardian wall mounted antique billiards scoreboard. The ultimate games room accessory for the gentleman’s club and finest of houses. Palmer and Sons Scoreboards were among the best of their kind, made from fine hardwoods such as oak and mahogany with ivory and mother of pearl inlays. This piece consists of two rolling score registers a central chalk board whilst two score banks record the progress in billiards, snooker and other related games. A central lower draw reveals pockets for 32 balls and two flip-out drawers hold chalk, cue tips and more. Above, a decorative surmount bears the makers name and a hooded lamp finishes the top beautifully. Some ivory discs are missing and there are several (though insufficient) turned wood knobs to reattach. Comes in three parts; base, central scoreboard and surmount. Requires attention.
Please note: the lighter coloured wood board on which the item is placed in the photographs is not included - for display purposes only.Want to know more? - use the Sales Enquiry tab
