What a charming little seat! This petite vintage paisley pattern cast iron garden bench may be diminuitive - but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in style. Seven simple wood slats form the seat which provides good support whilst showing off the unusual patterning of the frame. Stepped elliptical feet rise and join in a double wishbone pattern to support the seat and then extend into an ornate back rest. The actual pattern is hard to describe - being somewhere between a classic paisley twist and the organic shapes formed by fronds or plants…whatever it’s meant to represent - it’s lovely and so very different. The stretcher bars have been replaced over time with later threaded ones and there is a little lateral movement on the seat generally - will require tightening or adjustment to suit.
