A rare antique Mansfield patent glazed chimney pot. Dating to around 1898, this unusual Victorian pot has twin skirted ventilation to maximise the airflow through the pot interior. Salt glazed and very heavy - it has a hand scored flared base to give the mortar flaunching the best possible hold on this substantial piece. Sadly the base of this pot has broken away from the main body. Close inspection of the photographs will show that it’s cracked through around the entire base - though it is a clean break with no missing pieces.
