Pair Of Salvaged 1930s Cast Iron Ogle Sons Elevator Cable Pulleys

From another great British manufacturer comes this pair of fine cast iron discs boldly bearing the makers name Ogle & Sons of Ripley in Derbyshire. Once makers of fine agricultural equipment, during WWII they worked for Rolls Royce reconditioning Merlin aircraft engines to power motor torpedo boats!

Many of ogles farm machines used cable or chain drives and these two pulleys are believed to be part of the drive system of a ‘litelift’ hay and straw elevator.

Both have the number LE135 on the face. One has a toothed ratchet fixed to the rear around a keyed spindle and the number LE133 – the other has only the keyed spindle and the number LE134.
