The Victorians are renowned for using the 'language of flowers' to convey their feelings such as Gardenias for a secret love and Jasmine for grace and elegance. It seems only fitting then that this lovely hand painted glass panel of Chrysanthemums, typically found in a fine house, represents

friendship and well-wishing.

A colourful work with a striking floral centre edged in light blue on a red ground. As the perfect complement to this riotous colour, a delicate bouquet of Crysanths' in a muted palette fill the surrounding stippled glass panels. Around the boundary are two multi-colour ribbons, flambeau corners and twelve 'penny bullions' (small coloured discs of spun or blown glass with unique raised nipples where the formative glass tube was snapped off).

A beautiful piece that could be re-instated into a window display or illuminated as a retail or interior design feature. The panel is generally sound though there are some small fractures within the boundary (see photos). Currently set into a temporary softwood frame.
