Salvaged Agricultural Cast Iron Tractor Seat with Red Painted Detailing

A stylised early 20th century farm tractor (or implement) seat that has remnants of faded yellow paintwork with red pin striping and scalloped detailing to the face. The seat has a radiating pierced pattern of slots and no less than five mounting holes which might suggest a re-positionable or cantilever (swing-out) mounting. Unusually this particular seat has no pommel, a raised front edge between the operators thighs, normally found on tractor seats of this period.

The seat has retained it's vintage paint together with a little dappled rust. This is unlikely to be the original paint, which would have quickly worn-away, but it gives the seat a wonderful vintage patina and the possibility it may have belonged to a 'show' piece or a proud owner at some time in its' illustrious past...

An iconic rural artefact, now very collectable, that could be converted into retro seating or used as rustic interior design elements in the home or retail setting.
