A real little gem - an authentic early 20th century enamel advertising sign for the Hereford Times newspaper with blue lettering in a yellow ground.
The Hereford Times was established in 1832, priced at 7d (pence) equivalent to about 3p today. It was a 4 page broadsheet (approx 30" x 24"!) paper and, at a time when papers were still taxed, over half the price went to the government in tax.
Single-sided and with some loss of the enamel to the face commensurate with age and use.
A classic piece of social history from a newspaper that is still in circulation today!
