A Fine example of a salvaged tee-top terracotta chimney pot. This pot has both a distinctive shape and practical use. The covered top reduces the amount of rainwater entering the stack as well as preventing downdrafts. The gently tapering body blends into the cross-pipe top piece. The tee-top has a contoured ends that that are shaved away at the lower edge to stop rain being drawn into the moth of the pot. Inside these two ends are grooves and holes to receive anti-bird mesh (one present). The pot is in overall good condition and could be re-used on a period property or perhaps re-purposed as a garden planter.
