Sweet Chestnut Huge Slabs or Planks

Huge slabs of beautiful sweet chestnut timber ready to be hued and sculpted into furniture, shelving and architectural features.

Sweet chestnut belongs to the same family as oak and beech trees and can live up to 700 years! It has an amazing purple grey bark that develops large fissures over time. It was brought to Britain by the Romans and produces the classic Christmas nut!

Suitable carpentry, joinery and furniture it has a regular straight grain and works similar to oak.
