Tall Old Galvanised Round Corrugated Iron Water Tank or Butt

With its traditional hand riveted construction, this lovely post war rounded iron water butt complete with tap, likely came from a farmyard or private garden.

Sadly this lovely old cistern is 'holed' in several places (see photos) due to corrosion, but its size and vintage charm suggest it could (and should) be re-purposed. Such items can be 'tanked' or sealed in order to re-use them.

Many traditional gardeners prefer to disguise modern plastic butts by placing them inside these older iron cisterns - raised on a vintage brick plinth for that finishing touch! Alternatively it could be cut down into three or four rings to place over modern pots for that vintage look.
