SOLD
Made by the great British company Salters - these vintage Salter’s No.60.T spring balance scales were made in the mid 20th century and still have their lead assay stamp on the face. These pull scales are hung by the top hook from a fixed point and the item(s) to be weighed are attached to the bottom - normally from a hook or three chains that held a dish (neither present). The weight of the object(s) will pull out a spring bar from below that is marked every 10lbs in weight whilst the dial displays the intermediate weight. If an item weighed 24 lbs then the slide would expose 2 x 10lb markers and the dial would read 4 lbs. The Salters logo of a knotted rope is visible on the lower face together with the pull-out slide indicator. A fine decorators piece which is not currently calibrated.
