Vintage TIM Bus Conductors Ticket Machine
Code: not yet assigned
SOLD
A rare early TIM handheld bus conductors ticket machine. Not only does this one have its original leather carry case - it also comes with its authentic brass manufacturers name plate intact, spare paper ticket rolls, hand crank, leather apron and…it still works! The tickets currently produced are faint but the words Royal Borough of Windsor are legible. Though these were typically used to issue bus tickets, they were also used in factories, canteens, garages - and this one appears to have a dial marked for cars, motorcycles and cycles? The maker was TIM or Ticket Issue Machines of Ashcroft Road, Cirencester in Gloucestershire. These machines were a common sight on public transport after WWII - from the late 1940s to the 1970s? A truly fun item that would entertain, be a useful prop or indeed may even be put to work (with a little TLC).
