Vintage Veritys Brass and Metal Four Blade Oscillating Desk Fan

This is the type of desk fan that we all know but rarely see...an early 1920s oscillating fan, the Verity "Orbit" would be equally at home on the desk of 'Indiana Jones' or a black and white gangster movie! A substantial cast iron base supports a delightful combination of motor housing, gears and linkages that propel the fan in an elliptical motion like some fantastical automaton.

The four riveted brass blades rotate within a stylised brass wire cage that, whilst it may fall short of today's safety guidelines, is so elegant and beautifully 'period'.

Was reputedly working when removed but is now sold primarily as a display piece. The wiring will be cut and plug removed before sale. To restore this to working order will require a qualified electrician.
