Original and authentic salvaged blacksmiths bellows hand made from English Elm and leather. At over 1.8 metres high these would look amazing on the wall of an old smithy or barn conversion. The grain of the Elm is divine and the five-ribbed leather bellow is fixed with hundreds of hand-driven studs. Just below the hand-cut air-valve are the numbers 3 - 1913 stamped into the timber, presumably the year and possibly month of manufacture?
There are some old worm holes to the wood and the leather would benefit from being 'nourished' but the iron pivots and operating chain are still intact. A wonderful heritage piece that will add charm to any number of vernacular settings.
