Job Description
In line with our continued expansion, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Customer Service & Administration Assistant from within the retail sector. Primary responsibilities will be to welcome new visitors and returning customers to the venue, and to support them with their buying requirements, along with routine administrative tasks in support of financial reporting and marketing activities.
The Individual
We welcome applications from those already working within the retail sector, ideally with some supervisory and/or administrative experience. You must be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with excellent communication skills who enjoys working towards targets within a team environment. You will understand the importance of, and have a natural flair for, providing excellent customer service, and take a great amount of pride in your work.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Meet and greet new visitors and returning customers, introduce the venue and explain layout and routing.
• Identify customer needs and offer guidance accordingly, seek to provide solutions and up-sell with complimentary products at every opportunity.
• Contribute to turnover and profitability targets by negotiating higher value deals within pre-determined parameters.
• Process sales through the till system.
• Respond positively and effectively to customer needs and deal with complaints pleasantly and in a timely manner.
• Prepare daily financial sales reports and circulate to Management.
• Support both businesses with additional administrative tasks as necessary, review current procedures and offer ideas for improvement where appropriate.
• Assist with company-wide stock take as and when required.
• Be vigilant and report any Health & Safety issues to a Manager immediately.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
•
A good standard of secondary and/or further education.
•
Proven sales, supervisory, and/or administrative experience within the retail sector is highly desirable.
•
Customer focused.
•
Results driven, team player.
•
IT proficient (MS Office).
• A positive and friendly attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, with a diligent and methodical approach.
• Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated and flexible.
• Good people skills, confidence, and ability to approach customers.

Working Hours
•
Five days per week including Saturday, Monday to Friday 0730 – 1700, Saturday until 1600, one weekday off, (flexible), in lieu of Saturday working (40 hrs per week exc. breaks)

This will be a combined internal and external sales role depending on the needs of the business on a week-to-week basis. The primary objective of the role will be to develop and build upon existing trade account relationships and to further expand our customer base throughout Hereford and the surrounding areas.

- Cultivate and maintain exceptional standards of customer service.
- Positively function as a link between your branch and your customers, and ensure Wye Valley Group Best Practice, Standards, Values and Company Policies are met.
- Regularly communicate and build strong working relationships with key personnel from your customer base.
- Split your time between external customer meetings and internal counter sales based on the needs of the business on a weekly basis.
- Support marketing and promotional activities as required, including attendance at any external events; shows, exhibitions, etc.
- Prepare and submit monthly management report summarising activity, orders, quotations/pipeline opportunities, progress year-to-date against target, market conditions, competitor activity, etc.
- Effective diary management, ensuring all calls and visits are recorded accurately onto CRM system.
- Be vigilant and report any Health & Safety issues to your Line Manager immediately.
- Deal with customer complaints effectively, pleasantly and in a timely manner.

The role is located in Rotherwas, Hereford and offers to be part of the expanding and diverse Wye Valley Group.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team at Warehouse 701 as a full time sales and customer service business apprentice
This role will involve both face-to-face customer interaction and time spent updating and maintaining the company’s online presence through eCommerce platforms. Working a Saturday will be required as a part of a 5 day working week.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- A confident and professional person.
- Good literacy skills.
- An understanding of Microsoft Office/ General computer skills.
- Confident telephone manner.
Responsibilities will include (training provided):
- Processing in-store sales using the point of sale till system.
- Updating and maintaining the Warehouse 701 online website store and other online Auction/Sales platforms.
- Maintaining product catalogue and processing sales and purchase orders.
- Stock control.
